Albert - The Food Seller

Length cm 28,5
Spread cm 53,5
Sticks 14 plus 2

The double silk leaf is painted with gouache and depicts a food seller who is placing a basket heaped with grapes on an ancient stone wall.
The delightful painting has an interplay of blue tones.
The monogram “AP” is painted on the back in the same tones.
The sticks are in perforated Haitian mother of pearl, painted and have gold and silver damascened.
Unfortunately, the photograph does not bring out the iridescent colour of the white mother of pearl and its pink and blue reflections.
A piece from the Duvelleroy factory which is specialized in luxury items.
