XIX century

XIX century
The fan in the XIX century becomes a common object, not limited to the noble class, but with the increase of the local production, it goes down in quality and elegance. The production becomes  a mass production, in most of them between 1810 and 1870, the pages are acquerello printings, often difficult to recognize from a real painting. Only towards the end of the century thanks to the firm Duvelleroy and to l'ècole Donzel, we can see again paintings of value and in any case all signed. The ivory chased frames come from China and India through the Indian Company, the pearl comes from colonies too, with charming colors and shadings difficult to realize even with a digital picture. They are titled so this means they are not unique pieces. The XIX century is very rich of styles, fashions and eclectism and I still have found the way to deepen their knowledge.
