France around 1740

Whole page fan. At the center three figures close to an ancient ruined well. It could be a typical example of “ engagement fan”, in fact the young man puts a little flower’s crown on the head of the lover. A third female figure seems to indicate to the couple the arriving of two children playing with a dog. Just indicated on the left a profile of a town (?) or of a majestic  building; on the right another group of young sitting on the green. But  the interesting particular is represented by the dressing of the child on the left, she has on her head a little bonnet which reminds a F. Boucher’s painting “the toilette”, around 1742.  The white pearl sticks are sculpted in bas-relief and gold and silver damascened. The rocaille theme surrounds the central scene represented by a sculptor who is sculpting a woman trunk very similar to the floral crowned lady.
